Week 28: At its core, this week is all about relationships
Here are a bunch of prompts to think about your behavior and how it is pro-social or not.
As I write this in early July 2025, I find myself vacillating between a fight-flight response and a carpe diem mentality. One thing I do know: understanding ourselves - our values, our motivations, our work, our play, our relationships - is more important than ever. It is not frivolous, it is the important, foundational work that we can do as we consider how to survive and rebuild during social collapse.
(Yes, that’s correct - American society is collapsing, changing forever in ways seen and unseen.)
And on that happy note:), let’s get into this good work! You might notice some more pro-social messages here these days. Take them or leave them, it’s up to you. This IS your work.
Who is the person in your life you need to say “thank you” to today?
Today is about practicing gratitude, but specifically a social exchange of gratitude. Which is important because some of the most gratifying times in our lives are shared!
In addition to thinking of WHO you would like to thank today, I’m encouraging you to think about HOW to say thank you. From a simple text to a card, to an email, to flowers, to the generous gift of your time spent in an activity… put some thought into what they might appreciate in how you thank them.
And if you want to thank more than one person, please spread the gratitude around!
